Getting from Naha to Junglia
How to get from Naha to JUNGLIA Okinawa by car, direct bus or taxi: the park's travel times, the expressway to Nago, parking, drop-off and the spa shuttle.
See tickets on Klook ↗Quick answer
The park gives about 90 minutes by car and about 120 minutes by direct bus from Naha, and says times vary with traffic. A direct, transfer-free bus runs from places including Naha Airport, Chatan Gateway and central Nago. By car, the Okinawa Expressway covers Naha to Nago, then local roads continue north.
The two travel times the park gives
The park's access page shows a map labelled Naha Airport and Naha City and gives about 90 minutes by car and about 120 minutes by direct bus. It adds that travel times may vary depending on traffic conditions and tells visitors to allow extra time. Treat both figures as a starting point, not a promise. Because the park is in the Yanbaru area of northern Okinawa, even the quicker option means a long morning and a long evening on the road.
By car
Driving from Naha, most of the way is on the Okinawa Expressway, a toll road, and the last stretch to the park is on local roads. There is no need to reserve parking: you pay the fee on site on the day of your visit. The park-side lot is right by the park. Parking fees apply to stops of more than 30 minutes, and drop-off and pick-up for the park use the same JUNGLIA OKINAWA Parking area.
Parking, the spa lot and the shuttle
There are two parking areas. The JUNGLIA OKINAWA Parking is right by the park. The SPA JUNGLIA Parking is about five minutes from the park by shuttle, and the shuttle runs from the spa lot to the park. For drop-off and pick-up, the park uses the JUNGLIA OKINAWA Parking area, while the spa uses the taxi stand in the SPA JUNGLIA Parking area. If you are visiting the park and the spa on the same day, work out which lot suits the first stop.
By direct bus
The park runs a bus service called the JUNGLIA EXPRESS, which it describes as direct and transfer-free. It serves locations including Naha Airport, Chatan Gateway and central Nago. Timetables and fares are on the park's own site, so check them before you plan the day, because a bus-only visit has to fit the timetable at both ends. The park gives about 120 minutes for the direct bus from Naha. For a visitor without a car, it is the simplest route.
By taxi
The park notes that taxis are available for arrival and departure. A taxi gives you the freedom of a car without the driving, but it is a long ride from Naha, so it is worth confirming how you will return at the end of the day before you set off, particularly if rides or lotteries run later than expected. The spa has its own taxi stand within the SPA JUNGLIA Parking area, which matters if you plan to finish the day there.
Starting from Naha Airport
Naha Airport is the primary air terminal for Okinawa Prefecture, close to central Naha, and it is served by the Okinawa Urban Monorail, known as the Yui Rail, which runs to central Naha. If you land and head north on the same day, the direct bus from the airport avoids the need to collect a hire car. If you pick up a car instead, build in time for the pickup and for the expressway before you reach local roads.
Who this isn't for
A day trip from Naha is a poor fit if you have a fixed return flight, or if the transfer would cut the park to a few hours, because the ticket cannot be cancelled once booked on Klook. Visitors who need to be somewhere in the evening should also look at staying in the north for a night. The plan works best when you treat the travel as part of the day and accept that the park will set the pace.
